Paul's Worldtrip's

A Blog about my trips and traveling abroad

I’m loving Tokyo with all its mad and beautiful stuff and people.  This was a trip that I will not forget  Also the Japanese people are so helpful  like from the way to the airport I ask a man with train I had to take and he made sure that I had the good train. Before he got on the metro…………

Tokyo in a nutshell

Getting around

Getting from Airport (Narita)  to your destination buy a railway card plus a 2day pas for the subway this will safe you some money…..  And go to the information office at the airport and get the English metro MAP!!! (*and at the big subway of the subway there are info offices where you can buy more day passes for the Metroline )

“Thete are two Metro company’s the Tokyo Metro line (cheap wan) and the Toei line (expansive)  So at a machine just go for the Tokyo Metro line and not the Toei line”

Getting a round is easy whit the English metro Map and Lonely planned with city map of Tokyo and your fine (* plus download offmap on your Iphone/Ipad and your will not get lost “by taking a shortcut when your dronk 😉 ”)

Cost

from Airport to a Subway system of Tokyo about  Yen 1000 (€10,00) for a railway ticket (don’t go for the JR line this is the expansive one )

(*also getting money whit a pinpas /ATM card works at the post offices but I had bad luck that some do use a old system,  but go to big one and your be fine to get some money MAX Yen 10.000)

Metro

A two day pas will set you back yen 900 And a day pas bout at a metro station yen 730 without the Toei line (* You will not needed to get around on this system)

Sleeping

A had a cheap hostel where I paid  2200 a night  for a 7 bedroom but me and Mark where the only one there so we had super big room just for  the two of use 😛 (*but is was remote from the centre of town)

Eating and drinks

If you like noodles and sushi your fine here its ferry cheap and if you buy at in the supermarket it will cost you 300 Yen But also the Japanese like there France bakeries and there is a good one and cheap at Akihabaria station next to the subway………..  And also you will find at every street corner a drinking machine like a coca cola  bottle will cost about 120 to 150 Yen

100 Yen  is about less than 1€

My top five peace to see in Tokyo where

1.      Akihabaria

With its biggest please for anime and magna shops and bars next to the largest electronics stores in the world.  And having a Bachelor in Robotics it is on my number one of course……. And The hostel was close by so I went three time to Akihabaria. The  Stores that I like ware the Vstone and Robot Kingdom but also the anime action figures  where great to see…. That with all the sounds and lights lets you go in a trance (*it’s a shame that they don’t sell weed there 😉 )

See Movie for more stuff and funny people

2.      Park near Akihabaria

Next to Akihabaria is you have nice park with a monastery and lots of history this after a day of Akihabaria is what the doctor orders.

3.      Shibuya Crossing

Nice to go to and see the big city and all the people there and there are nice expansive shops and trendy and hip cafes…

4.      Shibuya Park

This park is beautiful but will set you back 200 Yen  but money well spent if you ask me…..

5.      Tokyo  / Imperial palace

Go to Tokyo and after 10 min walk you’re will find the Imperial palace but it was sadly not possible to go inside….. But still nice from the outside and you can see the Tokyo tower this nice for one time…..

Also nice places where you can go is somo museum (ore fight), a Baseball match, Annime cafe, Karioke bare  And when you have the time go inland to Kyoto  ore to fuij  and go snowboarding ore surfing on the beach…………..

Sadly I have to leaf Japan but I’m going back to Bali and then to Australia Lucky me………………………..

But I’m will be going back to Japan “Because it was assume !!!”

So where do I start the trip in Japan so far was like a rollercoaster ride the things I experienced and seen are amazing and mad. It’s like going for the first time to new city and land !!! And the people are so helpful and friendly…….

Here some photo form Tokio

City skyline

Shibuya Crossing (* this is 5 way crossing )

Then we went to the nice Shinjuku park cost about 200 yen (€ 1,80) money well spend

Japanese people

Traditional                                                                                      New Generation

More after break !!! 😛   Tea time 😉

First day I landed in Tokio Japan and find my way to the Smile Hostel ware I will be staying . The Subway is luckily made by a Engineer ore programmer because it all makes sense. From the Airport I take the train to Ueno subway because it cheap way to travel from the airport to town .

Out of place

So I was sitting in the train to Ueno subway station and did not expect to see this !!!

So this a Dutch Windmolen whit Dutch flag and al between the rice fields in the middle of Japan…… But any way I want to the WAHALLA of Electronics and annime en stuff Akihabara and it was MAD SUPER and I was like a child in a big toystore (* See the Movie )

Above the place we call home its very nice near the beach and very remote from the city.

Going to the City of Kuta

Kut (a) in very funy  word in Dutch see Google translate but any way. We had to go to the visa office because Obed had to pay for overstaying his visa. Because he forgot to extend it and forgot his passport.

The route to town(but after Obed had paid for new visa there cane built a better route plus highway, hospital and al with street lighting from it 😉 plant in the year 2011 thnx to Obbe Abbo)

At the way to the city very nice beach buggy

The City of Kuta is like tourist place to be;  lots of shops , souvenirs markets and Bars & nightclubs and the typical beachview. At Kuta we meet friends from Perth Australia and had a nice meal. Also the Stuff like T-shirt are nice and cheap like a shirt will cost between 20.000 rpj a 40.000 rpj  (*but being  Dutch “kijken kijken niet kopen” :P)

After having meal we went back to Canggu and we took  part in beach soccer at the beach 😛 this is play all over the beaches. And its good fun to play, and here my skills that I cot from playing Dutch “tienen” when I was young came in handy.

Also the great ting in Bali is that you meet people from all over the world. Like Obed friend Mayeli from Venezuela. Nice lady how lives here and steaks Belgium that’s very funny to hear.

At Dinner at Beachhouse we meet up whit Mayeli and here Swedish girlfriend and also there ware group from Switzerland staining in Ubut at a place runt by Obed’s friend joined use at dinner

The Seafood at Bachhouse was Mad !!! and great Like the redsnaper ore Lobster and Calamari mmmmh and for a great price 😛  I eat and drink till I my tummy was full

Engineer onsite

Also for me it was very interesting  to see how the building are build and how the power grid is made and constructed……….( No wonder there have so match black outs.)

Bamboo scaffolding

I love the bamboo scaffolding

WTF is NEN  The transformer is Over loaded with connections to homes. Because if the Transformer makes sounds it’s not a good sign. Or maybe it’s for letting U know that the power is on….  But better electricity  than non. Also there not match green energy installations like solar power/boilers  ore Wind turbines maybe because of the cheap fuel prices its easier to buy a generator . ???

3 fase voltages hanging dangerous to the right of the route and tree line………

But like the seeing go’s “Hate Hate” relax and take your time

But I’m still bit careful because of the riff ( knowing me next week I will surf there like I was born there Hehehe 😛 )  Also I exteriorsed my first monsoon rain and it was like walking through a warm shower….. At the way back from Echo beach to guesthouse the way back was block by a fast running river so I had to put my stuff in a bag and made a stick to walk a gents’ the current Like bear “grills discovery channel” Heah….. The Balinese locales where sitting an clapping went I went over the river……………At the Guesthouse why watched a DVD. Buying a DVD cost about € 0,40 cents 😛 so cheak out Obed’s DVD collection

After having best relax flight in wile I first landed in Jakarta. From my window I looked down to the Jakarta shore and there were Million ships waiting to get throw  was like a traffic jam but at sea. See Movie.  At Jakarta we had a stop and after waking around at the Airport of Jakarta we only had 2 hours left to flight to Denpasar, Bali !!!

On arrival I had to wait 1 hours to get throw customs what was a new fast record told a Australia also waiting in line. “Welkom mate to Bali were you don’t  have a clock but all the time of the world”  I was expecting that Obed will meet me at the Airport but instead he send a privet chauffeur  to pick me up and drive me to the resort VIP style………

The way to the Resort I went in to Culture shock it was my first time in Asia and it was like sitting at home watching a Travel programme.

The resort where Obed works

After a good night sleep and god thanks for the ARCO my room because it was very hot for me 27 degree coming from 6 degree and cold wind. Next day Obed showed me his workplace and showed me the resort.

After having good 4 stars breakfast Obed had to go to work and to the Office

Obed’s Office view

Still in shock I spend my first day in the guesthouse and out of the sun. Because I had to get used to the temperature and humidity.  So I made some photo of wildlife around the Guesthouse

Next day I went to the Beach to swim and make some 360 and Panorama views of the beach still keeping out of the sun…….

Beach in panorama 360

Later in the day I went to see how the locals life. The next day I went on Obed’s Scooter to go explore Bali and look for cool stuff to see

At the Guesthouse the locals offered some stuff to there god’s for good luck …

Everywhere you go you find temples in Bali so here is wane of many

After the relaxing day’s and getting resistance to the temperate and sun I went surfing  and it was good ‘HEAH’ so now my daily route is:
